Rozprávka o Petrovi Králikovi
The Tale of Peter Rabbit
-
Kde bolo tam bolo, žili raz štyri malé králiky a volali sa Hopsalka, Mopsalka, Chuchvalček a Peter.
Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail, and Peter.
-
Žili so svojou mamičkou v piesočnatom brehu pod koreňom jedného veľmi veľkého smreka.
They lived with their Mother in a sand-bank, underneath the root of a very big fir-tree.
-
Jedno ráno ich mamička povedala:
One morning their mother said:
-
„Tak, moji drahí, môžete ísť na polia alebo dolu na cestičku, ale nechoďte do záhrady pána McGregora. Vášmu ockovi sa tam stala nehoda; pani McGregorová ho dala do koláča.“
“Now, my dears, you may go into the fields or down the lane, but don't go into Mr. McGregor's garden. Your Father had an accident there; he was put in a pie by Mrs. McGregor.”
-
Then she took a basket and went through the wood to the baker's.
-
Hopsalka, Mopsalka a Chuchvalček, čo boli dobré malé králiky, išli dolu cestičkou zbierať ostružiny.
Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail, who were good little bunnies, went down the lane to gather blackberries.
-
But Peter, who was very naughty, ran straight to Mr. McGregor's garden and squeezed under the gate.
-
Najprv zjedol trochu šalátu a nejakú fazuľu a potom zjedol niekoľko reďkoviek.
First he ate some lettuce and some French beans, and then he ate some radishes.
-
Začalo mu bývať trochu nevoľno, a tak išiel pohľadať nejaký petržlen.
He began to feel rather sick, so he went to look for some parsley.
-
But as he came around the end of a cucumber frame, whom should he meet but Mr. McGregor himself!
-
Pán McGregor vyskočil a utekal za Petrom, mával hrabľami a kričal:
Mr. McGregor jumped up and ran after Peter, waving a rake and calling out:
-
„Zastaň, zlodej!“
“Stop, thief!”
-
Peter sa veľmi bál.
Peter was most terribly frightened.
-
Behala sem a tam po celej záhrade, lebo zabudol cestu späť k bráne.
He rushed all over the garden, for he had forgotten the way back to the gate.
-
Medzi kapustou stratil jednu topánku a druhú topánku medzi zemiakmi.
He lost one of his shoes among the cabbages, and the other shoe among the potatoes.
-
Peter ran on and on, until he got caught in a gooseberry net by the large buttons on his jacket.
-
Už strácal nádej a ronil veľké slzy.
He gave himself up for lost, and shed big tears.
-
Počuli ho však nejaké priateľské vrabce a prosili ho, aby to skúsil ešte raz.
His sobs were overheard by some friendly sparrows, who implored him to exert himself.
-
Peter sa z kabátika vykrútil práve včas a utiekol.
Peter wriggled out of his jacket just in time and escaped.
-
V stene našiel dvere, ale boli zamknuté.
He found a door in the wall, but it was locked.
-
Napokon prišiel k bráne, podliezol ju a utekal celou cestou až domov.
At last he reached the gate, slipped underneath it, and ran all the way home.
-
He was so tired that he flopped down upon the floor of the rabbit-hole and shut his eyes.
-
Jeho mamička mala plné ruky práce s varením.
His mother was busy cooking.
-
Premýšľala, čo urobil so svojím oblečením.
She wondered what he had done with his clothes.
-
It was the second jacket and pair of shoes that Peter had lost in a fortnight!
-
Petrovi nebolo v ten večer veľmi dobre, preto ho mamička uložila do postele a dala mu harmančekový čaj.
Peter was not very well during the evening, so his mother put him to bed and gave him some chamomile tea.
-
But Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail had bread and milk and blackberries for supper.
