1. Tiga Babi Kecil

    The Three Little Pigs

Once upon a time, there was a mother pig who had three little pigs.

When they were big enough, the mother sent them out to see the world:

"Go and build your own houses — but you must be smart and careful!"

The first little pig was a lazy pig and wanted to finish quickly.

  6. Ia membangun rumahnya dari jerami.

He built his house out of straw.

In just one day, the house was finished, and the little pig danced happily in front of it.

The second little pig was a little more diligent, but he was also not very patient.

He gathered wooden twigs and tree branches, then built a house from those materials.

After two days, the house was finished, and the little pig felt satisfied.

However, the third little pig was a wise pig.

He carried heavy stones and diligently stacked stone after stone.

The work took days and even weeks, but in the end, there stood a sturdy and strong house made of thick bricks.

Not long after, a big bad wolf came through the forest.

  15. Ia sedang lapar dan melihat rumah jerami milik anak babi pertama.

He was hungry and saw the first little pig's straw house.

  16. Ia mengetuk pintu sambil berseru:

He knocked on the door while shouting:

  17. "Babi kecil, babi kecil, biarkan aku masuk!"

"Little pig, little pig, let me come in!"

  18. Si babi kecil menjawab,

    The little pig answered,

"No, no, no, by the hair on my chinny chin chin!"

  20. Lalu si serigala berteriak,

    Then the wolf yelled,

"Then I will huff and I will puff until I blow your house down!"

He took a deep breath, then huffed and puffed — and the straw house collapsed like paper.

  23. Si babi kecil berlari secepat mungkin ke rumah kayu milik saudaranya.

The little pig ran as fast as possible to his brother's wooden house.

  24. Serigala itu mengejarnya.

    The wolf chased after him.

  25. Sekali lagi ia mengetuk pintu dan mengancam mereka.

Once again he knocked on the door and threatened them.

Once again the little pigs answered bravely, and once again the wolf huffed and puffed — once, twice, three times — until the wooden house also collapsed into pieces.

  27. Sambil terengah-engah, kedua anak babi itu berlari ke rumah batu milik saudara ketiga mereka.

Panting and out of breath, the two little pigs ran to their third brother's stone house.

  28. Serigala itu mengejar mereka dengan marah.

The wolf chased after them angrily.

  29. "Babi kecil, babi kecil, biarkan aku masuk!"

"Little pig, little pig, let me come in!"

"No, no, no!", shouted the three little pigs together.

The wolf huffed and puffed with all his might — but the stone house did not budge in the slightest.

  32. Ia meniup dan mengembus lagi sampai paru-parunya hampir pecah — namun sia-sia.

He huffed and puffed again until his lungs were about to burst — but it was in vain.

  33. Rumah itu tetap berdiri sekokoh batu karang.

The house remained standing as solid as a rock.

The wolf was furious, but he did not give up.

  35. Ia memanjat ke atas atap lalu merosot turun melalui cerobong asap.

He climbed up onto the roof and then slid down through the chimney.

However, the three little pigs were very clever: they had hung a large pot of boiling water over the fire, right under the chimney.

The wolf splashed right into it — splash! — then jumped out again with a loud shriek.

He ran off into the forest and was never seen again.

  39. Ketiga babi kecil itu menari-nari kegirangan.

The three little pigs danced with joy.

The first and second little pigs had learned that they must not be lazy.

From then on, they also built sturdy houses out of stone.

  42. Dan mereka bertiga hidup bahagia dan aman — selama-lamanya.

And the three of them lived happily and safely — happily ever after.
